Los Angeles Dodgers
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington died this week at the age of 41. On Thursday night Dodgers’ organist Dieter Ruehle wanted to honor the musician’s memory by playing “Numb.” It was early in the evening, and perhaps nobody in attendance noticed while they were filing to their seats — but this was a really nice gesture anyway. Thank you Dieter, and thank you Dodgers for this. Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
LOS ANGELES The Dodgers have won a lot of games with big hits. This time, they needed a couple little ones too. Yasiel Puig’s dribbler up the third-base line led to the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the Dodgers ended their two-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves Saturday night. The win continued the Dodgers’ dominant summer run after a brief pause. They are now 32-6 since June 7. The Dodgers’ first two runs Saturday came on solo home runs by Corey Seager (a 433-foot drive into the right field pavilion) and Chase Utley. Atlanta Braves

And just to boot, Garcia also hit a grand slam off Alex Wood in the fifth inning -- the first for a Braves pitcher since 1966. "Very impressed how he put everything aside and did his job. He was really good again, just like he was the other day, on Sunday," Braves manager Brian Snitker said, referring to Garcia's win over Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
Jaime Garcia maintains a poker face most of the time. But the Atlanta pitcher couldn't stop smiling after the biggest hit of his career. Garcia launched a grand slam off previously unbeaten Alex Wood to highlight the Braves' 12-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. "That was pretty unbelievable," Garcia said. "I've never hit a grand slam in my life, not even in Little League." The subject of trade speculation lately, Garcia limited Los Angeles to three runs over seven innings as the Braves won their second straight at Dodger Stadium. The NL West leaders hadn't lost two in a row since June 5-6 against Washington. They've been outscored 18-6 in the first two games of the series. Continue to Article
