New York Yankees
Aaron Judge hit his 31st home run of the year and had four RBIs in the Yankees' 5-1 win over the Mariners on Friday. Judge's three-run home run off Mariners' starter Andrew Moore was his first since July 7, snapping a 10-game homerless streak. He added a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Judge hit 47 home runs in the home run derby earlier this month, becoming the first rookie to win it outright. In 93 games for the Yankees this season, Judge is hitting .313 with 31 homers, 72 RBI, and 13 doubles. Chris Carelli, SNY.TV Facebook | Twitter | About Me | Archives Judge ended a 10-game home run drought - his longest of the season - with a towering three-run bomb that Statcast couldn't even measure. The consensus was that any projections on the latest mammoth shot off the bat of Aaron Judge far underestimated the actual distance. Judge hit a colossal three-run homer that nearly soared out of Safeco Field, and CC Sabathia won on his 37th birthday as New York beat the Seattle Mariners 5-1 on Friday night. The big slugger clobbered a hanging curveball from starter Andrew Moore (1-2) into the second deck in left field, with the ball landing three rows from the top of the stadium. Continue to Article

Aaron Judge hit a ball so far Friday night that it nearly left Safeco Field in Seattle. In the top of the 5th inning against Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Andrew Moore, Judge released a monster shot into the left-field stands. Saying that his first home run since his Home Run Derby victory went to the last rows in Safeco and nearly left the building wouldn’t give it justice. You have to see it with your own eyes. Aaron Judge had not hit a home run since July 7. Friday, he hit a home run so far that it couldn't be tracked. Aaron Judge hit it to the third-to-last row at Safeco. That's bonkers. pic.twitter.com/huNHrKNWO9— Kenny Ducey (@KennyDucey) July 22, 2017 Continue to Article

Caption Close The Seattle Mariners bid adieu to one of their top minor-league prospects by shipping outfielder Tyler O'Neill to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for young left-handed starter Marco Gonzales. The 25-year-old Gonzales was the Cardinals' first-round pick out of Gonzaga in 2013. He's spent most of the 2017 in Triple-A Memphis, posting a 6-4 mark with a 2.90 ERA in 11 starts this season. His lone major league start this year was forgettable, as he gave up five earned runs in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers on June 13. The Fort Collins, Colorado, native was named the Cardinals' minor league pitcher of the year in 2014. He was named the 50th-best prospect in baseball ahead Continue to Article
