Minnesota Twins
For an upstart Twins team that still holds dreams of postseason glory, the Indians finally starting to play the way everyone expected after last year’s World Series run is only part of the problem. Minnesota ranks dead last in the American League in offense over the past two weeks, a disturbing trend that could quickly erase the team’s surprising first half if it persists. When Mike Trout went down with an injury, Miguel Sano looked like the second-best bet in the AL (behind Aaron Judge) to vie for MVP honors this season—that’s how blazing hot his first few weeks were. MINNEAPOLIS- Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana and third baseman Miguel Sano were named to the American League All-Star roster as reserves on Sunday night. It’s the second time that Santana will be heading to the game, while Sano is a first-time participant. Santana is 10-5 with a 3.07 ERA, while Sano currently is hitting .272 with 20 home runs and 58 RBI. Sano will also be participating in the Home Run Derby on July 10. Minnesota Twins
The Cleveland Indians have had the Twins right where they wanted them for this pivotal midseason series. In Minnesota, actually. Lonnie Chisenhall hit two home runs in the second game after Jose Ramirez went deep twice in the opener, and the Indians took over first place in the AL Central by sweeping a doubleheader from the Twins with 9-3 and 6-2 victories on Saturday. "It was fun. It's a long day, but I thought our guys carried the enthusiasm throughout," Indians manager Terry Francona said. The Indians have won seven straight games in Minnesota and are 7-2 this season overall against the Twins, whose 38-day stretch in first place ended in anticlimactic fashion. They're 14-23 this year at Target Continue to Article

Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins will celebrate the life of Minneapolis' greatest musician with "Prince Night" at the ballpark on Friday. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will get "Purple Rain" inspired umbrellas that are purple on the top and emblazoned with the cover of the iconic album on the interior. During the seventh inning stretch at Target Field, fans will be invited to open their umbrellas, turning the ballpark purple in remembrance of the late singer, guitar player, and performer. Los Angeles Angels
Just when CC Sabathia was pitching like an ace again, the big left-hander got hurt. Sabathia exited early with a strained left hamstring, and Eric Young Jr. rallied the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-2 victory in 11 innings that snapped the New York Yankees' six-game winning streak Tuesday night. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he anticipates Sabathia is headed to the disabled list, a disappointing blow for the AL East leaders with the 2007 AL Cy Young Award winner on his best run in years.
