CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Indians will be sending 5 players to the 2017 All-Star game! That’s the first time the Tribe has had 5 All-Stars since 2004. The team tied with Washington, New York Yankees and the Astros for the most individual selections. Of course, the American League is being managed by Indians’ Terry Francona. He’s bringing his whole coaching staff with him. Jose Ramírez was selected as the third base starter for the game, the team’s first fan-voted starter since 2001.  This is his first All-Star game. Bryan Shaw (2-3) intentionally walked Victor Martinez, putting runners on the corners, but Mikie Mahtook flared an RBI single to left to make it 6-4. A look at what's happening all around the majors Saturday: BACK AGAIN Mets right-hander Zack Wheeler returns from the disabled list to start at Citi Field against the Phillies, who have the worst record in the majors. Wheeler is 3-5 with a 5.29 ERA after missing the past two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He was pitching well, with a 3.45 ERA, before getting hit hard in two consecutive short starts and going on the DL retroactive to June 20 with biceps tendinitis. "There had to be a blip someplace. You just don't go two years without throwing a baseball and come back and pitch as well as he's pitched without having some type of wear and tear flare up," Mets manager Terry Collins Continue to Article
