Yankees OF Dustin Fowler suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first inning of his MLB debut on Thursday night against the White Sox. Fowler suffered an open rupture of the patellar tendon in his right knee when he slammed into the wall down the right field line attempting to catch a foul ball. He underwent surgery shortly afater at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Yankees manager Joe Girardi was in tears after witnessing the injury. Over the next few days the White Sox will get a taste of what their lineup would look like without Avisail Garcia. Strangely enough, it’s a position they’d prefer to not find themselves in again any time soon. After several years of mediocre performances, Garcia, who is out for a few days with a sore left knee, has produced an All-Star caliber season.
