Baltimore Orioles
Hello, friends. Another day has dawned with the Orioles in fourth place in the American League East. If they lose tonight, they will be tied for last. They are now five games out of the division lead and 2.5 games out of a wild card spot with five teams to pass to get there. If you missed the not-so-lovely totals from last night’s loss in Toronto, in which the Orioles were shut out for the fifth time this season, check out Stacey’s recap of the game. The O’s need a win to get back to .500. To do so, they will need to win a game started by Ubaldo Jimenez. In other words, hold on to your butts. And if you think the Orioles should end up as buyers, you’d better be pretty dang sure. Trading prospects Continue to Article

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The man who tossed a beer can at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim last year has been sentenced to probation, and is banned from all MLB games during his probation. Kenneth Pagan pleaded guilty to a mischief charge back in May, and on Wednesday,  was banned from all MLB games while he completes 12 months of probation. According to CTV News, he must also complete 100 hours of community service. Pagan’s lawyer said that Pagan has lost his job following the incident, and has been working part-time as a janitor and delivering pizzas. The Crown attorney reportedly said tossing the beer can was both “unsportsmanlike” and “un-Canadian.” Pagan made national news when he threw Continue to Article

Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles returned to their June form of giving up 5+ runs per game in Sunday’s series finale against the Rays. Chris Tillman continued his disastrous 2017. For today at least, these things did not matter, because the Orioles offense was up to the task of overcoming Tillman’s struggles, scoring four late runs on the way to an 8-5 victory to take down the Rays in Tampa. In winning the game and in turn the series, the Orioles collected their first road series win since the April 18-20 series in Cincinnati. You read that right. The Orioles road woes are not solved by one series win. None of their other problems are solved either. But winning the series and getting one game closer to a .500 record Continue to Article

Baltimore Orioles
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Joey Rickard hit a tiebreaking double in the ninth inning and the Baltimore Orioles, boosted by three home runs, beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-5 Sunday. Caleb Joseph, Trey Mancini and Jonathan Schoop homered for the Orioles. It was 5-all when Joseph opened the ninth with his third hit, a single off Alex Colome (1-3). Rickard put the Orioles ahead, Schoop was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Adam Jones added a sacrifice fly. Brad Brach (2-1) earned the win with two innings of shutout relief. Schoop's 15th home run, a solo shot off reliever Chase Whitley, tied in the eighth. Evan Longoria's three-run homer off starter Chris Tillman put the Rays up 5-3 in the fifth. Continue to Article
