University of Kentucky left-handed pitcher Zach Logue was a ninth round draft choice last week by the Toronto Blue Jays. The 21-year Logue was 7-5 with a 4.97 ERA in 18 games, including 15 starts, this past season for the Wildcats, striking out 88 and walking just 25 in 87 innings on the mound. Logue, who was 16-2 in his final two years at prestigious Moeller High School in Cincinnati, won 12 games in three seasons with 150 strikeouts for the Wildcats.  In 2015 Logue played summer league baseball in Amsterdam, N.Y., posting a 7-0 record with a 2.29 ERA in nine starts. KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - Chris Young, Kansas City's winning pitcher in the 2015 World Series opener, had been designated for assignment. Reliever Neftali Feliz agreed to a one-year contract with the Royals on Friday, four days after he was released by Milwaukee. Young had a 7.50 ERA in two starts and 12 relief appearances allowing 47 hits, including seven home runs and 18 walks in 30 innings. He went 3-9 with a 6.19 ERA last year. The 38-year-old right-hander was 1-0 with a 2.87 ERA in four games in the 2015 postseason, including three scoreless innings in the opener against the New York Mets.
