The crowd at Citizens Bank Park hardly reacted as Ruben Amaro Jr. took the field Wednesday night. He shook hands and chatted with first baseman Tommy Joseph during warm-ups. Moments later, the Phanatic rushed over to hand Amaro a stuffed mascot, which he offered to a young fan in the first row. Three rows back, a man held up a sign reading, "Amaro - free fall from GM to first base." The 51-year-old first-year manager of the surprising Arizona Diamondbacks has developed a symbiotic relationship with his players that's at the core of the team's strong start this season. The Cavaliers made some program history Monday night when teammates and 3rd years Pavin Smith and Adam Haseley were drafted back to back in the top ten of the MLB Draft. Pavin Smith was drafted No. 7 overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks and just a few minutes later, Haseley was drafted No. 8 overall by the Philadelphia Phillies.
