St. Louis Cardinals
ST. LOUIS - For over 30 years, Jose Oquendo has been a part of the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization in some capacity. His roles have ranged from second baseman, where he set a record in 1990 for the fewest errors by a second baseman (3), outfielder, pitcher, and third base coach, among others. After he retired as a player in 1995, and following a stint in the minor leagues working within the organization, he became the Cardinals’ third base coach in 1999, and was the most familiar face on the field for St. Louis. Fans from the “Whiteyball” era loved seeing him back, while the new generation of fans could appreciate the history that surrounds Oquendo. Fryer was set to hit in the eighth spot. Molina hit .300, playing in six games, on the recent seven-game trip on which St. Louis did not win a game. He has started 51 of the 58 games this season. For the season, Molina is hitting .258 with six RBI and one home run. Continue to Article

St. Louis Cardinals
The wobbly St. Louis Cardinals shook up their coaching staff and cut slumping infielder Jhonny Peralta on Friday, hoping to spur a team that's struggled all season after a rare playoff miss last year. Third base coach Chris Maloney was replaced by Mike Shildt, and the Cardinals shuffled several other assistant coaching positions. St. Louis went into Friday night's game against Philadelphia with a 26-32 record. Continue to Article
