Former Mets outfielder Lenny Dykstra thinks the Mets should fire Terry Collins and hire his former teammate, Howard Johnson, he told Christian Red of NY Daily News. After four days of playing like something other than the worst team in baseball, the Phillies reverted back to the losing ways on Wednesday night. It was their worst loss of the season, a 14-1 bruising sustained at the hands of the Atlanta Braves (see Instant Replay). Things were so bad that the Phillies didn't just send reliever Joely Rodriguez to the minors after the game, they bounced him off the 40-man roster by designating him for assignment. Adrian Beltre is out of the Texas Rangers lineup again, this time with a sprained left ankle, putting his pursuit of 3,000 career hits on hold. Team physician Dr. Keith Meister examined Beltre on Wednesday and confirmed the diagnosis of a sprain, though it was unclear how long the third baseman might be out. Kevin Kaczmarski learned a valuable major league lesson even before reaching the big leagues: Do not park in the assigned spot of one of the Mets' aces.
