New York Mets
New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard always brings the fire. That’s true on and off the field. The 24-year-old is known for his blazing fastball on the mound, and his heated feud with team mascot Mr. Met on Twitter. Syndergaard can’t bring the heat in games right now due to an injury, but that won’t stop him from roasting his nemesis online. Continue to Article

Former Mets outfielder Lenny Dykstra thinks the Mets should fire Terry Collins and hire his former teammate, Howard Johnson, he told Christian Red of NY Daily News.  Following the Mets' loss to the Rangers Monday, Dykstra was critical of Collins and said the Mets should get rid of him before the season is out of reach.  "Terry Collins has lost the team, and the players have no confidence," Dykstra said. "It's pretty obvious. It almost seems like he's managing from a textbook." "HoJo was a major league coach for five seasons (with the Mets)," Dykstra said about Johnson. "The fans love him. The players love him. More importantly, the Mets are still in this race, and the fans don't deserve to go Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
After four days of playing like something other than the worst team in baseball, the Phillies reverted back to the losing ways on Wednesday night. It was their worst loss of the season, a 14-1 bruising sustained at the hands of the Atlanta Braves (see Instant Replay). Things were so bad that the Phillies didn't just send reliever Joely Rodriguez to the minors after the game, they bounced him off the 40-man roster by designating him for assignment. Adrian Beltre is out of the Texas Rangers lineup again, this time with a sprained left ankle, putting his pursuit of 3,000 career hits on hold. Team physician Dr. Keith Meister examined Beltre on Wednesday and confirmed the diagnosis of a sprain, though it was unclear how long the third baseman might be out. The Rangers said only that the 38-year-old Beltre was undergoing treatment and is considered day to day. Continue to Article

Kevin Kaczmarski learned a valuable major league lesson even before reaching the big leagues: Do not park in the assigned spot of one of the Mets' aces. Kaczmarski, a ninth-round pick out of the University of Evansville, had his car fully Saran-wrapped during spring training when he left his vehicle in a spot with a No. 48 sign affixed to the fence in front of it. (See the wrapping immortalized in Josh Smoker's tweet here.) "I was playing in the big-league game that day, so I drove my car over to the big-league side," Kaczmarski said. "Me being the new guy, I didn't know where to park. You would think [Jacob] deGrom would have a spot close to the clubhouse. It was kind of in the middle of the Continue to Article
