MILWAUKEE — Zach Davies pitched three-hit ball into the seventh inning, Eric Thames hit his 15th homer and the Milwaukee Brewers averted a three-game series sweep by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0 on Sunday, June 4th. MILWAUKEE -- Chris Taylor hit a grand slam in the ninth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 10-8 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday at Miller Park. The Dodgers led 4-3 in the seventh inning, but saw that disappear when Travis Shaw hit a grand slam of his own and Hernan Perez followed with a homer off Josh Fields. After an impressive return to the majors last month, Joe Ross has struggled in back-to-back outings, including the 10-4 loss to the As on Saturday. Joe Rosss first start back from Triple-A was exactly what the Washington Nationals needed and wanted from the 24-year-old right-hander, who was sent down to the Nationals top minor league affiliate early last month to work on his mechanics, arm slot, maintaining velocity, etc. Thats the guy Ive been reading about at Triple-A, Dusty Baker told reporters after the game.
