Murphy was 4 for 5 with two RBIs including his 10th home run. He's 10 for 18 with three extra-base hits and five RBIs over his last four games since missing three games last weekend with an illness. Scott Boras talked Bryce Harper and the possibility of a long-term deal in D.C. on MLB Network Radio on Friday afternoon. Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo talked after the Nats signed Bryce Harper to a 1-year/$21.625M for 2018, avoiding arbitration a year ahead of time for what could be the 2010 No. 1 overall picks final season in D.C. if he opts for free agency, about the talks that resulted in the record-breaking deal for an arbitration-eligible player. Rizzo said at the time, however, that the two sides did not discuss the possibility of a long-term deal that would keep Harper from testing the free agent waters after the 2018 campaign. Washington started their three-game series with Oaklands As last night in Oakland Coliseum, playing the AL West franchise for just the third time since baseball returned to D.C. in 2005 and for the first time since way back in 2014, when they were swept in three games in what was then called the O.co Coliseum.
