They're not dead yet in either the division or wild card races—sitting 5 1/2 games back in each—but the Royals are in transition, with core players like outfielder Lorenzo Cain, first baseman Eric Hosmer and third baseman Mike Moustakas all pending free Continue to Article

CLEVELAND -- Corey Kluber pitched six shutout innings and struck out 10 in his first start since May 2, and the Cleveland Indians scored four runs during a strange sixth inning to beat the Oakland Athletics 8-0 on Thursday. Kluber (4-2) had been sidelined with a strained lower back, an injury that kept Cleveland's ace sidelined for a month and deprived a struggling rotation of its leader. The Indians scored four runs - three unearned - off Jharel Cotton (3-6) in the wild sixth. Continue to Article

Columbus-based Traxler Printing has been selected as one of the Ohio print shops for NBA championship T-shirts should the Cleveland Cavaliers win the title. The contract is the result of years of work as Traxler Printing has developed a facility capable of rushing to market print jobs such as this one, owner Zach Traxler said. "For the last three years, we have been on standby printing for Ohio State University Buckeyes football, the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, and more," Traxler said. "Now that it's the NBA Finals and Cleveland has made it back to back, we're at the top of the list for hot market printing." Traxler Printing has one of the largest screen-printing presses in Ohio, he said, Continue to Article

SAN FRANCISCO — Nationals slugger Bryce Harper and San Francisco reliever Hunter Strickland both landed punches to the head during a wild brawl that erupted Monday after a hit by pitch. Harper was hit in the right hip by Strickland’s 98 mph fastball in the eighth inning with Washington ahead 2-0. Harper pointed the bat toward Strickland, charged the mound and fired his batting helmet wide of the pitcher. They started to swing away and they each connected as the benches and bullpens emptied. At least two Giants players forcefully dragged Strickland from the middle of the brawl all the way into the dugout. Harper and Strickland were both ejected. In the 2014 NL Division Series, Harper hit two home Continue to Article

It's time to Defend the Land! The NBA Finals are set to start Thursday, highlighting a third-straight match-up between the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. Local shops are selling out of t-shirts and social media is full of posts supporting the Cavaliers, but some Northeast Ohioans are going a step beyond to express their fandom. What better way to "Defend the Land" than by tagging your land with some support? Twitter user Marco Orlando (@LurpoPolo) put the Cavaliers' logo front and center in his yard: It's not the first time he's expressed his support via yard art. During last year's Cleveland Indians World Series run, Marco was ready to rally: Twitter user Kory Continue to Article
