Philadelphia Phillies
When it comes to Philadelphia sports these days, everything is bad. The Phillies can't get a win. Herrera, Galvis, and Franco all forgot how to hit over the winter.  Mike Trout just tore a thumb ligament, meaning the Phillies can't trade for him for 8 Continue to Article

Philadelphia Phillies
The slumping Phillies get a reprieve on Thursday, but will enter Friday’s series opener against the Giants with a 17-34 record, worst in baseball. The team’s problems are manyfold, but two players whose struggles stick out are Maikel Franco and Odubel Herrera. Herrera, the Phillies’ lone representative in the All-Star Game last year, hit .286/.361/.420 with 42 extra-base hits and 25 stolen bases last season. Continue to Article

The Lexington Legends return home to begin a four-game series Thursday night against the Augusta (Ga.) GreenJackets at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends of May were not the Legends of April. Now, fans get to see what Lexington’s Class A baseball club has in store for the summer ahead. Lexington lost six of its first 10 games this season and finished April 9-16. In May, the Legends bounced back with a 17-11 record. Heading into June, the Legends stand at 26-27 and in fifth place in the South Atlantic League’s Southern Division, 6.5 games behind the first-place Greenville (S.C.) Drive. Lexington has a chance to start June off right. Augusta, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, is mired Continue to Article

San Francisco Giants
Max Scherzer missed a complete game by one out in his last start, so he decided to finish the job and go all nine to lead the Washington Nationals to a 3-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants. With Bryce Harper serving the first game of his three-game suspension tonight, the Washington Nationals carried on without him and beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 to earn their first ever sweep at AT&T Park. Max Scherzer just missed a complete game in his last start, falling one out short after loading the bases in the top of the ninth. Continue to Article
