The slumping Phillies get a reprieve on Thursday, but will enter Friday’s series opener against the Giants with a 17-34 record, worst in baseball. The team’s problems are manyfold, but two players whose struggles stick out are Maikel Franco and Odubel Herrera. This is a tale that most certainly did not take place in Philadelphia because any cop in this area would not let Dez Bryant off scot-free. He's a Dallas Cowboy after all. Dez shared a driving story recently while Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato visited Cowboys practice and admitted to shattering a law into oblivion and getting away with it. The Lexington Legends return home to begin a four-game series Thursday night against the Augusta (Ga.) GreenJackets at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends of May were not the Legends of April. Now, fans get to see what Lexington’s Class A baseball club has in store for the summer ahead. Lexington lost six of its first 10 games this season and finished April 9-16. Max Scherzer missed a complete game by one out in his last start, so he decided to finish the job and go all nine to lead the Washington Nationals to a 3-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants. With Bryce Harper serving the first game of his three-game suspension tonight, the Washington Nationals carried on without him and beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 to earn their first ever sweep at AT&T Park.
