Los Angeles Dodgers
LOS ANGELES – The Cubs have scored zero runs in 18 innings at Dodger Stadium this weekend and still haven’t faced Clayton Kershaw yet. Neither game got close enough for Kenley Jansen and the sound system blasting “California Love” in the ninth inning. Of course, the Cubs survived a 21-inning scoreless streak last October and came roaring back to eliminate the Dodgers and win their first National League pennant in 71 years. But muscle memory and been-there, done-that confidence will only take the Cubs so far. The Cubs keep saying this is a new year, talking around the issues with their rotation, the learning curves for young hitters and what was supposed to be an airtight defense. Corey Kluber, sidelined most of the month with a strained lower back, is expected to rejoin the Cleveland Indians rotation on Thursday against Oakland. Cleveland's ace right-hander hasn't pitched since May 2 when he left his start against Detroit after three innings. The Chicago Cubs kept it classy on their way to open a road trip at Dodger Stadium, with the World Series champions dressing as characters from the Will Ferrell comedy "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." Manager Joe Maddon colored his gray hair a dark brown and dressed in a suit and red tie in a nod to Burgundy, the San Diego TV news anchor played by Ferrell in the 2004 comedy. Burgundy's nightly signoff was "You stay classy, San Diego." "It was a Maaco job," he said, referring to the auto painting business. "I scratched my head on the airplane, I still can't get my fingernails clean. That brown paint bedded deeply in my nail bed." Outfielder Kyle Schwarber donned a white cowboy hat with Continue to Article

Cubs fans weren't the only ones who enjoyed the team's "Anchorman" romp out to the West Coast Thursday afternoon. Trading card company Topps released a special edition card for the Cubs' "Stay Classy" trip, featuring Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber — complete with their awesome wig and hat: topp_2.jpg topps.jpg The back of the card reads "After defeating the San Francisco Giants by a score of 5-1 at home, the Cubs left Wrigley Field in style. The team kept it classy with their road trip attire as they set out on a west coast road trip, beginning with a series against the Los Angeles Dodgers." The cards are being sold on Topps' website for $9.99. Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
If you're looking for a sport to hook the audiences of the future, esports may be the best game in town, according to Peter Guber, co-owner of the California State Warriors, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles FC. "I think it has all the tools to really go the distance and become something powerful," Guber, who is CEO of Mandalay Entertainment, told CNBC. Esports' audience plays the games, making them not only participants but "passengers," Guber explained. Continue to Article
