Chris Carelli, SNY.tv The opening arguments have been made by both sides of the newly enshrined "The Judge's Chambers," an 18-seat juror's box assembly for fans who show their allegiance to Yankees rookie outfielder Aaron Judge. On the plaintiff's side, the complaint is that despite Judge's MLB-leading 15 home runs (plus one misruled a triple), he's just a rookie and doesn't deserve a fully developed section with his name on it. Those against the enclosed area claim that there is nothing wrong with fans coming to the stadium with their robes, wigs and fake gavels, but the section should have grown organically over time. For those who remember the 1990's early 2000's clubs, think the bullseyes Continue to Article

SB Nation has a cool series right now: each of our team sites discussing the origins of fandom. I wanted to share a few of the best from our college team blogs, though there are many other good ones. It would be years later that I came to know that Chambliss had played his college baseball at UCLA. Continue to Article

The Yankees continue to see declines in ticket sales this season despite the team leading the AL East, according to New York Times' Billy Witz. The team's first-quarter filings reported last week noted ticket and suite revenues had declined "nearly $14 million from the first-quarter filing of a year ago." Overall, ticket sales have dropped $166 million since their World Series championship back in 2009. Managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner thinks millennials are the reason for the lack of interest in not only his team, but baseball in general. "Baseball, I think, has somehwat struggled with the millennial problem," Steinbrenner said in an interview before the season. "We recognized in looking Continue to Article

The Yankees have placed outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury on the seven-day concussion disabled list and will call up Rob Refsnyder, according to Jack Curry of YES Network. Chris Carelli, SNY.TV:  With Ellsbury looking to be out for at least the 7-day concussion period, the Yankees will have an interesting decision to make for the fourth outfielder as Hicks will certainly take over in center field full time. Since the role will be mostly part time, the Yankees could bring up either Rob Refsnyder or Mason Williams as they are already on the 40-man roster. Refsnyder has been the go-to player when the Yankees have to add to the 25-man roster for an injured position player, while Williams has limited MLB Continue to Article
