Lonzo Ball apparently has no interest in going No. 1 in next month’s NBA draft. Ball recently told the Celtics that he won’t be working out for the team ahead of the draft, general manager Danny Ainge said on Boston radio show Toucher and Rich Thursday morning. The epiphany struck me when LeBron James missed that dunk. When does James ever miss a dunk in the playoffs? When he knows that the Warriors are next. That’s when. I’m not saying that I was reading James’ mind as he went up to stuff the ball against the Boston Celtics during Tuesday’s third quarter–only to see the ball clang high off the rim. I’m just projecting what James might–might–have been thinking as he rose up and drew back his arm with the ball and floated in the air long enough for ESPN to run two Geico commercials (Love that Sumo figure skater!) before he began to descend.
