Houston Astros
Caption Close MIAMI --- Even if they had lost Tuesday, the Astros would have secured their best 40-game start in franchise history. That fact alone is something to behold. Through a quarter of their season, they've been the best team in baseball. Behind a 12-2 clobbering of the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night, the Astros improved to 28-12, two wins better than their next-best first quarter of any season. In Wednesday afternoon's series finale at Marlins Park they have a chance to move to 17 games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 2004 season. The next-best team in the majors is two games back. No other American League West team has even a winning record. Things are going so well Continue to Article

"I played here for 20 years and I learned that time flies and that memories fade, but family is forever," Jeter told the sold-out crowd of 48,000 that frequently broke into a familiar "Der-ek Je-ter" chant that rocked Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees are hosting the Houston Astros to cap off Derek Jeter Week in The Bronx, and boy was their opening game fun. Let’s start at the end of Houston’s 3-2 victory, because, really, this throw from Jake Marisnick with two outs in the ninth inning is all anyone is going to want to talk about. The Astros entered the bottom half of the final frame trailing 3-1, but with a few of their best hitters due up. Continue to Article
