San Antonio Spurs
It's been a long time since the San Antonio Spurs were heavy underdogs going into a playoff series, but that's where we are going into 2017 Western Conference Finals. With Kawhi Leonard playing on a bad ankle, Tony Parker gone for the season, and the Golden State Warriors 8-0 in the playoffs coming in, the Spurs have a monumental task in front of them if they want to get to the NBA Finals. But Manu Ginobili and David Lee say that they shouldn't be counted out, because playing their best basketball as a team makes anything possible. © 2017 KENS-TV Continue to Article

Golden State Warriors
OAKLAND, Calif. -- The stakes for the Golden State Warriors against the San Antonio Spurs matchup just got higher: two Six Flags theme parks have made a wager on which team will win the NBA Western Conference Championship. According to park officials, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio have agreed to rename a roller coaster and ride crews will wear opposing team gear for a weekend if their team loses the series. Should the Spurs lose, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will have to rename their Iron Rattler to "Iron Warriors" and the park president, Jeffery Seibert, will wear a Stephen Curry jersey all weekend long. Two teams that excel offensively and defensively from beyond the 3-point line go strength against strength when the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors meet in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday. The second-seeded Spurs beat the top-seeded Warriors in two of three meetings this season, with the winner in all three being the team that had better success on 3-pointers. San Antonio limited Golden State to 12-of-50 shooting on 3-pointers (24.0 percent) in the first two games, both of which were won by the Spurs. Continue to Article

Golden State Warriors
SAN ANTONIO - Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard is back and ready for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Warriors. Coach Gregg Popovich announced after practice Saturday that Kawhi will be in the lineup when the Spurs go against the Golden State Warriors at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Leonard injured his ankle when he came down awkwardly in Game 5 against the Rockets. The Spurs went on the win that game in overtime, but Kawhi had to watch the win from the bench. He missed the Spurs 114 to 75 Game 6 blow out clincher against the Rockets, but is now ready to go against the top seed in the West. Kawhi is averaging close to 28 points a game to lead the Spurs this post season.   Continue to Article

Golden State Warriors
Golden State coach Steve Kerr was involved in practice on Saturday for the first time since early in the postseason as the Warriors worked out in preparation for the Western Conference finals. Kerr, 51, has not been on the bench since Game Two of a first-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers on April 19 because of recurring issues resulting from back surgery two years ago. The Warriors will meet the San Antonio Spurs in Game One of the Western Conference finals on Sunday at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif. Kerr took part in coaches meetings and talked with acting head coach Mike Brown at the end of Saturday's practice at the team's downtown practice facility. Continue to Article
