Cincinnati Reds
After catching for 269 pitches and watching his beleaguered bullpen escape jam after jam in extra innings, Buster Posey took matters into his own hands. Posey homered with one out in the 17th inning for the latest walkoff homer in San Francisco history as the Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds for the first time this season with a 3-2 victory Friday night. Posey sent the first pitch he saw from Robert Stephenson (0-2) over the left-field wall for his fourth homer of the week, ending the marathon game after 5 hours, 28 minutes. Continue to Article

San Francisco Giants
The Sacramento River Cats put together an inning for the history books on Thursday. When you look at the box score, you see a '1' in the second inning and then a '2' in the sixth before you have to blink and make sure your mind isn't playing tricks on you.  Sacramento plated 13 runs in the seventh inning, as a 6-3 deficit turned into a 16-6 lead over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The River Cats scored one more run on Orlando Calixte’s second home run of the game in the top of the ninth and went on to win, 17-7.  With 13 runs in one inning, the River Cats broke a franchise record that was first set two weeks from 17 years ago on May 25, 2000. To make matters even more wild, the previous franchise Continue to Article

Cincinnati Reds
SAN FRANCISCO -- The way the Cincinnati Reds are going, comeback wins are no longer surprising. They're becoming the norm. "I think when you're playing really well over an extended period of time you anticipate ways of coming back," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "Somebody's going to get the big hit, somebody's going to hit one out, somebody's going to come in and make a great defensive play or shut down a rally." Zack Cozart had two extra-base hits, including an RBI double in the top of the eighth inning that scored the game-winner, as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the San Francisco Giants 3-2 on Thursday night. The Reds won for the ninth time in 11 games and have won 15 of their last 20 games Continue to Article

Cincinnati Reds
After a historically bad run, the San Francisco Giants will be riding the momentum of a rare win when they seek revenge on the Cincinnati Reds in a four-game series that begins Thursday night. The series is a rematch of a three-game demolition by the Reds in Cincinnati last week. The Reds won the games 13-3, 14-2 and 4-0 -- beating San Francisco by a cumulative 26 runs, the Giants' largest margin of defeat in a three-game series since getting trounced by a total of 37-10 by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1922.
