Wednesday night's 7-5 win in Miami capped a historic road trip for the St. Louis Cardinals. "There's been some great teams that have been through here," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Now the Cardinals have a chance to make another impressive statement when they start an eight-game homestand Friday night in Busch Stadium against the Chicago Cubs. Continue to Article

German Marquez's fastball was dancing. ''I thought about it,'' Marquez said of a no-hitter. Marquez allowed three hits over eight innings and got his first major league hit with a two-run single in the seventh to lead the Colorado Rockies over the Chicago Cubs 3-0 on Wednesday. Continue to Article

St. Louis Cardinals
Once St. Louis Cardinals rookie outfielder Magneuris Sierra reached the major leagues, he needed little time to make a big splash. In his first three games after being recalled from Class A Palm Beach, Sierra went 5 for 14 (.357) and won raves for his baserunning. Sierra has been regarded as a top prospect since 2014, when he was chosen the Cardinals' minor league player of the year. Continue to Article
