The Boston Red Sox have issued a lifetime ban to a fan following a fresh incident of racist abuse at Fenway Park, the team confirmed on Thursday. The Major League Baseball giants said the fan had been permanently barred from Fenway after directing a racial slur at another supporter on Tuesday. The new incident came just 24 hours after Red Sox fans hurled racist epithets towards Baltimore Orioles' outfielder Adam Jones on Monday. Continue to Article

The Boston Red Sox on Wednesday permanently banned from Fenway Park a fan they said used a racial slur in reference to a national anthem singer, in an incident that was not related to Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones’ purported encounter with racist language at the stadium earlier this week. A bystander alerted Fenway Park security about the offending fan’s actions after he twice used a version of a racial slur, according to the Associated Press. Red Sox President Sam Kennedy addressed the fan-ban at the stadium’s press box during Wednesday night’s game against the Orioles. Continue to Article

Baltimore Orioles
The Boston Red Sox on Wednesday permanently banned from Fenway Park a man they said used a racial slur, a separate confrontation from the insults directed at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones a night earlier but one the team says it is taking just as seriously. ''I'm here to send a message, loud and clear, that the behavior, the language, the treatment of others that you've heard about and read about is not acceptable,'' Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said during an impromptu update for reporters in the back of the press box during Wednesday night's game. ''We have to recognize that this exists in our culture,'' Kennedy said. Continue to Article
