Voters on Wednesday honored 22-year-old Colorado right-hander Antonio Senzatela as the National League's Rookie of the Month for April. Left-hander Kyle Freeland, who faces the San Diego Padres on Thursday afternoon at Petco Park in the rubber match of a three-game series, received votes for the honor. Last summer he managed in the Cape Cod League for the first time. This spring, he led Team Israel on its upstart run into the second round of the World Baseball Classic. Weinstein is currently in his first season Continue to Article

If you somehow havent heard, the Washington Nationals bats are on fire, and their stellar offensive performances have pushed them to the top with the best record in the majors after the first month of baseball at 17-8. Since Opening Day on April 3, the team has won all six of their games with double digit runs most recently Sundays 23-5 shredding of the New York Mets when they set a franchise scoring record and they are 2-1 when their opponents are in two digits.
