The Boston Red Sox have apologised to Adam Jones after the Baltimore Orioles man said he was racially abused during Monday's game at Fenway Park. Jones had a bag of peanuts thrown at him from the crowd and claims he was "called the N-word a handful of times". The centre fielder called for severe punishment to be handed out to anyone found guilty of such behaviour, and on Tuesday the Red Sox condemned the incident and promised to investigate.
