David Price is typically approached by reporters after he throws a bullpen session. Price has been referring to manager John Farrell lately as manager John. Prices presence on Twitter has drawn negative attention in his time with the Red Sox. Continue to Article

Boston Red Sox
Today marks the first time the New York Yankees (11-7) and Boston Red Sox (11-8) square off in the 2017 Major League Baseball season, 7 p.m. ET tonight at Fenway Park. Back down on the farm, however, they’ve already battled twice this year in St. Petersburg and Birmingham, Ala. The tangential connection that manages to see this lede weave into a racing story comes courtesy of the Verizon IndyCar Series’ proverbial triple-A affiliate, the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, and two of its top young American prospects: Colton Herta and Aaron Telitz. The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees renew their bitter rivalry Tuesday night at Fenway Park, with Rick Porcello facing Luis Severino. The home team is 7-0 straight up and 5-2 against the spread in the last seven games between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox hope the trend will continue in a three-game series against the Yankees starting Tuesday night. Continue to Article

I completely understand that the Yankees brought in Chris Carter's right-handed hitting power bat to complement Bird, but to enact a strict platoon would be a mistake in my opinion. I bring this up because the writing is on the wall. Bird entered Sunday's game in a 0-20 slump and went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, single and two walks. The following game, Bird was on the bench in favor of Carter, who mind Continue to Article

Pirates starter Ivan Nova has been outstanding in his first three starts of the 2017 season. He yielded only five earned runs in 20 innings for a tidy 2.25 ERA. But even more impressively, Nova didn’t issue a walk in any of those starts. That changed on Sunday afternoon against the Yankees, but in a most peculiar way. Nova had struck out the side in the first inning, notched a 1-2-3 frame in the second, and got two quick ground outs to begin the third inning, bringing up Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery for his first major league at-bat. Montgomery never batted in the minor leagues, either, so Sunday’s AB against Nova was his first since his senior year of high school in 2011. Montgomery took Continue to Article
