Nobody in the NBA has played against each other in the playoffs since 2011 more than the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs roll into this first-round series, which starts Saturday night with Game 1 in San Antonio, as the No. 2 seed in the West with 61-21 regular-season record that was second only to Golden State in the NBA. San Antonio should roll in this series. In a traditionally hard-fought showdown between two Western Conference foes, the No. 2 San Antonio Spurs and seventh-seeded Memphis Grizzlies go head-to-head in a lopsided first-round playoff matchup. (Which is far from entirely true, but the narrative sells.) Curry is the most popular player in the NBA, and for the second straight year that showed up again in the NBA’s annual report on jersey sales, as tallied by the NBA.com store.  LeBron James was second. Here’s the list: Top 15 Most Popular NBA Jerseys: 1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors 2. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers 3. Kevin Durant, Golden State Warriors 4. Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder 5. Kyrie Continue to Article

If wins really are everything, the trophy should go to Leonard. Tensions are peaking amid one of the most compelling MVP races in NBA history, and James Harden recently tried to bolster his case against Russell Westbrook by claiming wins should matter more than anything when determining the award’s recipient. The issue with Harden’s reasoning, though, is that he’s laying out the argument for a different MVP contender: Kawhi Leonard. Continue to Article
