During their dreadful 1-8 start, the Toronto Blue Jays have shown a distinct inability to do just that. On Thursday night at Rogers Centre, the club was faced with the task of solving Baltimore Orioles starter Kevin Gausman and his 95.2 mph heat and found they weren’t equal to the task en route to a 2-1 loss. The Orioles traded for a guy named Magnifico yesterday. In case you missed it, in separate moves last night, the Orioles acquired pitcher Damien Magnifico from the Brewers for an international bonus slot (for more on the O's on international signings, see here) and sent Oliver Drake to the Brewers for a PTBNL or cash. The Toronto Blue Jays finally pushed across a run in the sixth inning Thursday night, ending a string of 18 scoreless innings. To make matters worse, Toronto third baseman Josh Donaldson left in the sixth inning after aggravating a calf injury while running out an RBI double.
