Boston Celtics
BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics could certainly use the top overall seed in the East more than Cleveland. It looks like the Cavs aren’t going to put up a huge fight for it.  Both Boston (51-29) and Cleveland are tied for the best record in the East, each with two games remaining.   All indications are that the Celtics will play their usual starting five tonight against Brooklyn (20-60), but the Cavs have other plans.   Their lineup for tonight’s game at Miami does not include LeBron James, Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving. In addition, Tristan Thompson is expected to miss his fourth straight game due to a thumb injury. If Cleveland loses tonight and the Celtics win, Boston then controls its own destiny Continue to Article

Jaylen Brown’s rookie campaign has certainly been different than those of his fellow 2016 lottery picks. The No. 3 overall selection of California, Brown is less than a week away from his first playoff run, something no top-five selection has done as a rookie since 2012. The Milwaukee Bucks are officially headed back to the playoffs, having clinched their first postseason berth in two years over the weekend. Milwaukee will begin the day sixth in a tight race at the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff field. The Bucks (41-39) trail the fifth-place Atlanta Hawks by a game but only lead the seventh-place Indiana Pacers (40-40) by a game and lead the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat , tied for eighth place at 39-41, by two games. MIAMI -- LeBron James' regular season is over, and the Cavs can't wait to say the same. A team source said James would not play in Cleveland's finale Wednesday at home against the Toronto Raptors, but Kyrie Irving may see action. Neither played in the Cavs' 124-121 overtime loss to the Miami Heat Monday, which knocked the Cavs out of first place in the East. Cleveland is 0-7 this year and 0-of-10 without James dating back to March of last season. The Cavs would need to win Wednesday and have Milwaukee beat the Boston Celtics to claim the No. 1 seed in the East on a tiebreaker over the Celtics. James will be the first player in NBA history to average at least 25 points, eight rebounds and eight Continue to Article
