Neither the Mavericks (32-47) nor the Suns (23-57) will participate in the NBA playoffs this season so their final regular-season matchup will be more about evaluating young talent than winning. Point guard Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was officially ruled out for Saturday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans because of a left knee contusion. Curry was considered doubtful to play after sitting out Friday's practice. The two-time NBA MVP sustained the injury in Wednesday night's 120-111 win at Phoenix when he scored 42 points.
