The Baltimore Orioles got two off-days in the first week, a big reason they are able to bring back No. 1 starter Kevin Gausman for his second start in just the fourth game of the season on Saturday. Gausman, who has stepped in for injured Chris Tillman (shoulder bursitis), started the season opener on Monday against Toronto. The two days off let manager Buck Showalter bring back Gausman (0-0, 3.38 ERA) on Saturday for the middle game of a three-game series with the New York Yankees. Continue to Article

Manny Machado hit a three-run shot, leadoff hitter Seth Smith got into the act with a two-run drive and the Orioles rallied to beat the New York Yankees 6-5 Friday night. Taiwanese pitcher Chen Wei-Yin's long wait for his first Major League Baseball hit is over. The ball off Chen's bat hit the ground just three feet from home plate and rolled toward Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who fielded it with his bare hand and didn't attempt a throw.
