Columbus Blue Jackets
The Washington Capitals have led the Metropolitan Division for most of the season, but the final seven games will determine whether they hold onto that position and seal home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs. It is not an easy road for Washington, which started a five-game trek with a 5-4 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets struggled on the power-play again, but they keep finding ways to do just enough to win. The Blue Jackets managed just three shots and no goals on three power plays in Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Buffalo and haven't scored with a man-advantage since March 13. Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack was diagnosed on Tuesday with only a neck strain after being stretchered off the ice and hospitalized following a collision in a National Hockey League game. Red Wings center Andreas Athanasiou slammed into Lack while scoring the game-winning goal, with Lack's neck bent backwards upon taking the hit. Continue to Article

Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings will face two diverse challenges coming to the rink Tuesday for a rematch at PNC Arena. Detroit, now 5-1-1 in its last seven games, will be playing its third game in three nights, hoping to find some energy to compete again and play spoiler against a team that is now riding an 11-game point streak. For Carolina, seeing goalie Eddie Lack carried off the ice on a stretcher on a game-ending collision in overtime Monday night adds to the emotions that are already on sensory overload with seemingly everything riding on every game as the Hurricanes try to chase down Boston and several other teams for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Carolina Hurricanes
The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are undoubtedly experiencing a sense of deja vu. Montreal held a one-point edge over Ottawa. While the Canadiens (41-24-9) swept the back-to-back, home-and-home set against the Senators to build a four-point cushion, an 0-1-1 record against the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes this week combined with Ottawa's wins against the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins brought the teams back to square one.
