In his last four games, reserve center Meyers Leonard has shot .667 from the field and .500 from the 3-point line and averaged 8.5 points in only 16 minutes a game. Russell Westbrook exploded for the highest-scoring game of his career with 58 points but it was not enough to stop the Oklahoma City Thunder from falling to a pulsating defeat against Portland. The Trail Blazers squeezed home with a 126-121 victory in a thrilling battle at the Chesapeake Energy Arena which Westbrook appeared to be attempting to win single-handedly. Russell Westbrook continued his season-long offensive rampage on Tuesday, setting a new career high with 58 points, including 30 after halftime. Unfortunately, even that monster effort wasn’t enough to push the Oklahoma City Thunder over the finish line. Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and Allen Crabbe combined for 66 points, and newly acquired center Jusuf Nurkic came up with several big buckets late in the fourth quarter, giving the Portland Trail Blazers just enough firepower to outlast Westbrook for a 126-121 win over the Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
