Without their usual offensive dominance at home and missing several key regulars, the Washington Capitals kept the puck almost all night and kept their home winning streak alive. Justin Williams and Tom Wilson scored and Braden Holtby made 30 saves as the Capitals beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 on Friday night to tie their franchise record with their 13th consecutive home victory. The St. Louis Blues have re-signed forward Patrik Berglund to a five-year contract extension worth $19.25 million, the team announced Friday. The 28-year-old Berglund is in the final season of a three-year, $11.1 million contract and was slated to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. St. Louis also uses Berglund a bit on the power play where he has averaged 1:18 of ice-time per-game on the season, and on the penalty kill where he plays 1:14 per-game. Continue to Article

Mike Yeo has liked the way the St. Louis Blues have responded after a win since he took over as the team's coach on Feb. 1. For only the second time in nine games under Yeo, the Blues are coming off a loss as they host the Florida Panthers on Monday night in their final game before the league-mandated break in their schedule.
