Kevin Love and Serge Ibaka stole headlines on Tuesday, and both stories might benefit the Raptors. LeBron James has rendered the Eastern Conference playoffs meaningless for the past six seasons. Despite challenges from the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers in 2012 and 2013, there was little doubt the James-led Miami Heat would reach the NBA Finals every season he spent in South Beach. Orlando Magic star Serge Ibaka is to join the Toronto Raptors in a trade deal which will see Terrence Ross head in the opposite direction, it was confirmed Tuesday. The Magic will also acquire a 2017 first-round draft pick as part of the deal which delighted Raptors star Kyle Lowry. No one need ask anymore, not with the Warriors holding the best record in the NBA and the team about to send four players - Curry and Durant included, of course - to New Orleans for next Sunday's All-Star Game. With veteran Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love hurting, it would seem that precocious Philadelphia rookie Joel Embiid would have the fastest track at earning an All-Star Game gig as an injury replacement. The Cavs announced Sunday that Love complained of soreness during their 125-109 win over the Nuggets Saturday night. The 76ers center has missed nine consecutive games already with a left knee bone bruise, and the team on Saturday evening confirmed that the 22 year-old has a meniscus tear in the same knee.
