The last thing downtrodden Stanford needs is to be shorthanded against a UCLA team that is bent on rectifying itself after almost letting a big lead against California slip away Thursday. The Cardinal (8-7 overall) has lost its first three games in the Pac-12 and are potentially without leading scorer and rebounder Reid Travis, who is out indefinitely after suffering a shoulder injury in practice last week. First-year coach Jerod Haase is trying to keep Stanford in a positive frame of mind despite the Cardinal committing 21 turnovers in the loss to the Trojans. Continue to Article

USC coach Andy Enfield will ask his team to take better care of the ball when the 25th-ranked Trojans play host to Cal in a Pac-12 Conference game on Sunday at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. USC (15-1, 2-1 in the Pac-12) is among the conference leaders in turnover margin and assist-to-turnover ratio, but the Trojans squandered too many possessions in their last two games against Oregon and Stanford. The Trojans should fare better against Cal (10-5, 1-2), which forces the fewest turnovers in the Pac-12. Continue to Article

UCLA coach Steve Alford and California coach Cuonzo Martin share a past coaching at Missouri State and playing for Big Ten teams Indiana and Purdue, respectively, during their college careers in the Hoosier State. Coming off a split last weekend to start Pac-12 play, Alford and Martin now share the same objective -- stay in pace with the young conference race. The fourth-ranked Bruins (14-1, 1-1 Pac-12) are coming off an 89-87 loss at Oregon and a 76-63 win over Oregon State. Continue to Article

Malachi Flynn scored eight of his 16 points in the final 2:13 and Washington State rallied in the closing moments for a 79-74 win over Washington on Sunday night. Washington State (8-5, 1-0 Pac-12) closed the game on a 12-3 run thanks to Flynn and Josh Hawkinson. Trailing 71-67, Flynn and Hawkinson took over, combining to score the final 12 points for the Cougars and give them their first conference victory in nearly a calendar year. Continue to Article

Despite a pretty rigorous non-conference schedule highlighted by two games against ranked teams, Arizona coach Sean Miller wasn't surprised his squad came out a little tentative in its Pac-12 opener. A strong second half from freshman Kobi Simmons provided all the calming influence the 18th-ranked Wildcats needed. Dusan Ristic scored 16 points and Arizona overcame a sluggish and sloppy first half to beat California 67-62 on Friday night. Continue to Article
