Northern Iowa
Just six days after No. 9 Xavier and Northern Iowa faced off against each other, the two teams will go at it again on Saturday at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Xavier (5-0) will be trying to prove in the noon matchup that its 67-59 win in the championship game of the Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando, Fla., was no fluke. Northern Iowa (3-1) will be taking aim at avenging their only loss in the young season. Continue to Article

Xavier
Butler coach Chris Holtmann acknowledged that Vanderbilt's size and zone defense presented problems in the Bulldogs' 76-66 win Thursday, and he expects the task to be more difficult against No. 8 Arizona on Friday. At least Holtmann's team, which is 5-0, does not have to concern itself with a zone defense utilized by Arizona coach Sean Miller. Northern Iowa
Just a few games into the season, it's clear 11th-ranked Xavier has some work to do closing out games. The Musketeers nearly let a 16-point second-half lead disappear, but Trevon Bluiett hit some clutch free throws late to help them pull away from Northern Iowa for a 67-59 victory in the Tire Pros Invitational championship game Sunday night. The Panthers came within five points with 1:35 left while Xavier's offense struggled, but then the Musketeers (5-0) hit 9 of 10 free throws in the final 57 seconds. Continue to Article

Northern Iowa
Klint Carlson scored 22 points and ignited a second-half rally that carried Northern Iowa to a 73-67 overtime win over Oklahoma on Friday night in the winner's bracket of the Tire Pros Invitational. Jeremy Morgan scored 17 points, had seven steals and four blocks and Jordan Ashton had 13 for the Panthers (3-0), who rallied from an 18-point second half deficit to win. Jordan Woodard and Kristian Doolittle had 13 points apiece for Oklahoma (2-1), which had only one field goal in the final 11 minutes of regulation. Continue to Article

Northern Iowa
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- - Jeremy Morgan plays guard for the Northern Iowa Panthers, but that seems almost too limiting. The senior does a little bit of everything for the Panthers. The Panthers got outstanding performances from Spencer Haldeman, Klint Carlson and Bennett Koch but it was Morgan who served as the facilitator of their production. Continue to Article
