Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder open a three-game road trip on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. Westbrook has been arguably the NBA's top performer this season, but the Thunder have struggled recently. After a 6-1 start, they have dropped five of their last seven contests, including a 115-111 overtime defeat by the Indiana Pacers in Oklahoma City on Sunday. Continue to Article

The New York Knicks will attempt to achieve something they accomplished only six times last season when they host the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks (6-7) will seek to get to .500, a mark they weren't able to reach after January 20 last season when they finished 32-50. The play went back to the NBA’s replay center, and officials ruled the clock should have started when DeMarcus Cousins tipped DeMarre Carroll’s inbound pass, and exactly 2.5 seconds eclipsed between that moment and Ross getting the shot off — just enough to nullify the final shot. Kristaps Porzingis came to the NBA from Europe as a 7-footer with 3-point range, so the comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki were inevitable. Jeff Hornacek figured the best way for Porzingis to play like Nowitzki was to play with Nowitzki. Continue to Article
