Coach Tom Izzo believes his team learns more from a loss to a ranked opponent than an easy win against a lightweight. Perhaps so, but Michigan State needs to start collecting victories. The No. 13 Spartans lost a buzzer-beater to No. 10 Arizona in the Armed Forces Classic at Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday, then got dismantled by No. 2 Kentucky 69-48 in the Champions Classic at New York's Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. Guard Kadeem Allen delivered with a coast-to-coast layup in the final seconds as 10th-ranked Arizona 65-63 beat No. 12 Michigan State last Friday night in Honolulu. Miller will continue to look to Allen to guide a young team, which opens its home schedule Tuesday night against Cal State Bakersfield in McKale Center, starting at 10 p.m. ET. Continue to Article

Arizona
Then they fell behind Michigan State by 15 points before the second TV timeout. Freshmen Kobi Simmons and Lauri Markkanen led a spirited comeback and senior Kadeem Allen supplied some last-second heroics, leading 10th-ranked Arizona to a 65-63 victory over 12th-ranked Michigan State. With the score tied and just over seven seconds to go in regulation, Allen took an inbound pass on the run, got Michigan State’s Josh Langford on his hip and drove the length of the floor for a go-ahead layup with 1.9 seconds left.
