Matt Van Scyoc drilled a 3-pointer with 1:32 left in the extra period to give Indiana State a six-point advantage that the Sycamores turned into an 80-74 overtime win over Ball State Tuesday night. Brandon Murphy gave Indiana State a 64-62 lead with a 3-point play with 15 seconds left in regulation, but Tayler Persons hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 64-64 and force overtime. Franko House scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds as Ball State beat Saint Louis 85-64 in a season opener on Friday night. House was 9 of 12 from the field including 4 of 4 from distance for the Cardinals. Tayler Persons added 21 points and Tahjai Teague had 10 points and led the team with eight rebounds.
