Rodney Pryor made a career-high six 3-pointers and finished with 32 points in his Georgetown debut, helping the Hoyas overpower SC Upstate for a 105-60 season-opening win on Saturday. Pryor, who averaged 18 points and eight rebounds per game for Robert Morris last season, made 6 of 8 from beyond the arc and 13 of 16 (81.3 percent) from the field, the most efficient shooting performance of his career with at least 10 shot attempts. When 24-year-old graduate-student transfer Rodney Pryor joined Georgetown, not everyone appreciated him acting like the big man on campus. After decades of failed attempts to drum up enough interest or support for an on-campus basketball practice facility, Georgetown Hall of Fame coach John Thompson was still around to see what he says he has been waiting for since at least 1978. A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony was held Thursday outside the John R. Thompson Jr. Intercollegiate Athletic Center.
