Fighting to become bowl eligible this late in the season isn't something that Stanford coach David Shaw is accustomed to, which might explain his reluctance to talk about the subject. The Cardinal have won three of the last four Pac-12 championships and entered the season heavily favored to keep the trend going. Instead, Stanford (3-3, 5-3) has been a middle-of-the-pack team slowed by injuries and an inconsistent offense. Continue to Article

Slow starts have bedeviled No. 25 Washington State this season, and the Cougars are seeking to avoid that Saturday against downtrodden Arizona. It was the first punt return for a TD in 11 years for Colorado (7-2, 5-1 Pac-12, No. 15 CFP) and came on a night when the Buffaloes struggled to get much going. The game featured a combined 25 penalties for 224 yards, two blocked kicks and five turnovers. Continue to Article

It took a six-game winning streak, but Washington State finally cracked the Top 25. The Cougars, who rallied to win 35-31 at Oregon State last week, have won six in a row for the first time since the 2003 season and remain tied with unbeaten and fourth-ranked Washington atop the Pac-12 North. No. 25 Washington State (6-2, 5-0) will look to keep its momentum going Saturday with a game against reeling Arizona (2-6, 0-5) in Pullman, Wash., starting at 4 p.m. ET. Continue to Article
