The Edmonton Oilers are rolling right now and it's not just their touted, high-flying offense making the push. Oilers goalie Cam Talbot has been sensational to start the season and on Friday night he stopped 26 shots for his 13th career shutout in a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks. While Brian Elliott has newfound confidence in net for the Calgary Flames, the Ottawa Senators will be without their starting goaltender for the foreseeable future. The Los Angeles Kings' goaltending carousel took another unfortunate turn on Saturday as Jeff Zatkoff hurt his groin in the morning skate and was placed on injured reserve. The 29-year-old Zatkoff (0-3-0, 4.37 goals-against average) needed assistance to get off the ice for the Kings, who are reeling from losing franchise goaltender Jonathan Quick to a groin injury during the first period of the season opener. Peter Budaj, who was recalled following Quick's injury, is expected to get the start on Saturday night against the undefeated Vancouver Canucks. Continue to Article
