For the second straight season, the Milwaukee Bucks laid an egg opening the season in front of their home fans, falling 107-96 to the Charlotte Hornets. The problems that plagued Milwaukee in its opener are the same that tortured the Bucks last season: an inability to make 3-pointers and lengthy defensive lapses that allowed opponents to build double-digit leads. After opening the season with two wins on the road, the second a dramatic come-from-behind victory at Miami on Friday night, the Charlotte Hornets can make franchise history when they open their home season against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. It didn't look like they'd get a chance to do that this season, either, when they trailed the Heat 65-46 in the third quarter on Friday night in Miami. Andre Drummond had 12 points and 20 rebounds, helping Detroit rout the Orlando Magic 108-82 on Friday night in what might have been the final home opener for the Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Pistons owner Tom Gores confirmed before the game the team is close on a deal to move downtown next season. Tobias Harris scored 18 points for the Pistons, and Marcus Morris added 17.
