The Rebels (3-3, 1-2 SEC) entered the 2016 campaign hopeful the season would end in some kind of championship, but after six games they are sitting at .500 with that title talk in all likelihood muted for good. LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron has deflected questions about his past at Mississippi this week. ''That's the furthest from my mind,'' Orgeron insisted as 25th-ranked LSU prepared to host No. 23 Ole Miss on Saturday night. No. 25 LSU's offense has discovered a knack for big plays even without Leonard Fournette, and just in time to run a gauntlet of ranked Southeastern Conference opponents. Now the Tigers are curious to see if they won't fill up highlight shows even more if their fearsome running back returns from his ankle injury for Saturday night's clash with No. 23 Mississippi.
