Missouri's last visit to Florida Field was a debacle for the home team. The Tigers returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and then really blew the game open in the third quarter by scoring on a punt return, a fumble return and an interception return. The 18th-ranked Gators (4-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) haven't forgotten, and they plan to use it as motivation when the Tigers (3-2, 0-2) return to Gainesville on Saturday. Continue to Article

LSU and Florida will play Nov. 19 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, a game rescheduled because of Hurricane Matthew. The Southeastern Conference made the announcement Thursday, ending a week of speculation about what would happen to the game originally scheduled for last Saturday in Gainesville. The teams had to buy out nonconference opponents scheduled for that Saturday: South Alabama for LSU and Presbyterian for Florida. Continue to Article

Missouri has had two weeks to prepare for Florida. The Gators have had two weeks off, too, but only because their game against LSU was put off last weekend due to Hurricane Matthew. The Florida vs. LSU game postponed by Hurricane Matthew has been moved to Baton Rouge on Nov. 19. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said earlier this week that LSU would not give up a home game to re-schedule its rained out game at Florida. The SEC announced Thursday that the game between the Tigers and Gators, originally scheduled for last Saturday in Gainesville but postponed because of Hurricane Matthew, will be played on Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge. In another step toward redefining the amateur status of college athletes, Northwestern has agreed to drop social media restrictions placed on football players after a complaint about the team handbook was filed with the National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB's advisory memo states the scholarship football players are assumed to be ''statutory employees'' and that certain team rules were unlawful. A group of former Northwestern players, led by an advocacy group for college athletes, failed last year in its attempt to gain the right to unionize the team from the NLRB, although the door was left open for other changes when the board said the players should be treated as employees.
