Once he took care of that, Diarse hooked up with quarterback Kenny Hill on the play that triggered a runaway for the Horned Frogs. Kenny Hill threw for 452 yards and two second-half touchdowns, including a 75-yarder to John Diarse on the first play after halftime, and TCU pulled away from SMU 33-3 on Friday night. Diarse's catch-and-run score on a quick slant came after he left the game in the second quarter following a hard hit from Darrion Millines that led to a targeting ejection for the SMU safety. Millines delivered the hit in the end zone after Anthony Rhone's interception in front of him, leaving a staggered Diarse on two knees as athletic trainers and coach Gary Patterson came out to check on him. On a late November night two seasons ago, Oklahoma State suddenly pulled the redshirt off their highly touted quarterback. Mason Rudolph lost his debut that night at Baylor, but the Cowboys won their regular-season finale at rival Oklahoma the next week to get bowl eligible. When Trevor Knight was benched at Oklahoma last year he could have accepted that he'd spend the rest of his career as a backup. Instead, the quarterback transferred to Texas A&M as a graduate student where he received a second chance to start, and so far it's paid off for both Knight and the 10th-ranked Aggies who are 3-0 heading into Saturday's game against No. 17 Arkansas.
