Oregon Ducks
New Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall is urging patience as the Cavaliers are rebuilt. A trip to No. 24 Oregon certainly might strain it. After a disappointing season-opening loss to lower-tier Richmond, the Cavaliers (0-1) make the 2,800-mile trip to Eugene to face the Ducks (1-0) on Saturday night. Continue to Article

Coach Mark Helfrich certainly wasn't concerned about Charles Nelson's missteps in Oregon's opener, joking that he'd bet his mortgage on the receiver and special teams standout. Oregon held its spot in the AP poll after a 53-28 win over lower-division UC Davis, which wasn't necessarily the margin of victory many expected, but it did provide graduate transfer Dakota Prukop a chance to get his feet wet with the Ducks. Devon Allen has seen only one real downside in his ongoing transition from track back to football: He's just not used to the cleats yet. The hurdler's feet were a bit sore following his first game back from his summer trip to the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Just two months ago, Allen won the 110-meter hurdles in the Olympic Trials - held on campus at Hayward Field - becoming the first collegian to win the event since Renaldo Nehemiah of Maryland in 1980.
