Milwaukee Brewers
There aren't many teams that the St. Louis Cardinals have been able to beat at Busch Stadium this year. One of them is coming to town for the next four games, which might be the boost St. Louis needs as it fights for one of two National League wild-card spots with San Francisco and the New York Mets. On a night when a leaky Miller Park roof was complicating matters for outfielders, Brewers rookie center fielder Keon Broxton had no issues making the play of the night in MLB. With the Brewers nursing a one-run lead in the ninth inning, Broxton used every bit of his athleticism and six-foot, three-inch frame to take away what would have a game-tying solo home run for Anthony Rizzo. Monday, it was a pair of reserves -- Chris Coghlan and Miguel Montero -- who led the way, combining for four hits, three RBI and a pair of runs as Chicago rallied late for a 7-1 victory at Milwaukee. "We're so deep," said Coghlan, who went 2-for-2 and drove in three after entering the game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh. Continue to Article

Bartolo Colon got an early start on New York's trip to Cincinnati, and it paid off in a big way for the Mets. Colon pitched six innings of five-hit ball and Matt Reynolds homered to the lead the Mets to a 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday. ''We had a man on the mound today,'' New York manager Terry Collins said. Continue to Article
