After a hefty piece of stone molding fell from the brick exterior of Ohio University's football stadium onto a sidewalk, other similar moldings have been removed as a precaution and work is underway to stabilize the wall before the team's home opener in early September. The school said the support system underneath the stone molding apparently failed, and areas around some of the stands were blocked off as a safety precaution after the fallen stone was discovered the morning of July 27. Withers has been the head coach at James Madison for the past two seasons The Dukes have gone 19-7 over the last two seasons and have qualified for the FCS playoffs in each. Before he was the head coach at James Madison, Withers served as Ohio State's defensive coordinator in 2013. Withers was also the interim coach at North Carolina during the 2011 season. Withers, the defensive coordinator under Butch Davis for the previous three seasons, took over as head coach after Davis was fired before the 2011 season in July because of the academic scandal at the university. Withers' Tar Heels went 7-6 and lost the Independence Bowl. A native of Charlotte, Withers played defensive back at Appalachian State from 1981-1985. He's also been an assistant coach in the NFL for both the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans. Texas State has been at the FBS level since 2012. In four years of FBS existence, the team has a record of 20-28. In 2015, the Bobcats were 3-9, the worst record the team has had in those four seasons. - - - - - - - Nick Bromberg is the assistant editor of Dr. Saturday on Yahoo Sports. Have a tip?
