The Los Angeles Dodgers resume their pursuit of the top spot in the National League West with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning Friday at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers (57-45), who lost two of three to the Diamondbacks following the All-Star break, have gone 16-9 in their last 25 games and made up ground on the struggling NL West-leading San Francisco Giants. Baseball's trade deadline is just days away, and two teams that are believed to be dealing will showcase starters on the market -- the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees -- open a three-game series Friday night. New York Yankees
Lance McCullers struck out 10 in six solid innings, Colby Rasmus broke out of a slump with a two-run homer and the Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees 4-1 on Wednesday night. Rasmus snapped an 0-for-29 skid when he sent an off-speed pitch from Masahiro Tanaka (7-3) into the seats behind the bullpen in right-center field to make it 4-0 with one out in the third. Ken Giles and Luke Gregerson pitched a scoreless inning each before Will Harris got his 11th save by striking out two in the ninth. Continue to Article

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Logan Morrison took things to a new level though on Wednesday afternoon as he crashing over the wall and almost brought the wall down with him to make a catch in foul territory at Dodger Stadium. Morrison had a lot working against him. In addition to the fast approaching wall, Morrison was also fighting an unforgiving sun that would later cause Tampa Bay to botch a popup. Continue to Article
